Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights
• Weekend requirement: 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification) - Must be obtained within 1 year of start and renewed every 2 years (3.0 CE hours required)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM) but not specified for this role

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Trauma experience
• Telemetry experience
• Ventilator (Vents) experience
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification

Required Licenses and Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accreditation required)
• NURSYS verification required for RN license
• State License Verification required within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 1 year of start)
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation confirmation required immediately after contract signing
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start (or TB questionnaire)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
• Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer required (medical exemptions reviewed)
• Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
• Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting training and form required
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
