Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
- Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
- Maintain professional nursing standards.
Schedule
- Monday and Tuesday, 6 PM to 6 AM
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Iowa RN license.
- Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
- Experience preferred but not required.
Employment & Health Requirements (must be completed prior to contract start)
- Resume and two recent employment references.
- Online verification of licensure/certification including expiration and disciplinary status.
- Copies of required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC.
- Immunizations:
- MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Polio
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Current TDaP (within 10 years)
- Flu vaccination or exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, proof of chest x-ray required.
- Physical exam within 1 year.
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month.
- Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if unavailable).
- Criminal background checks for all states of licensure and residence in past 7 years.
- National and state sex offender registry checks.
- Federal exclusions and sanctions checks within 30 days.
- Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse.
- Completion of required education modules prior to start.

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
