Job Opportunity: DEXA Technician
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Bone Density Technologist (DEXA Technician) to provide specialized radiology services. This position does not require floating between units, on-call duties, weekend shifts, or block schedules. The expected patient ratio is 1:1.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Oregon
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year

- Short Term Acute Care Facility
- Charting system: Epic
Work Environment
- Scrub color: Any color allowed
- Parking: No fee
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
Training and Competency
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start (including regulatory and specialty-specific modules)
- Medication and competency exams as applicable
- Epic training modules completion required
Additional Notes
- No floating between units
- No on-call or weekend requirements

- 1:1 patient ratio
This position is ideal for a DEXA Technician with at least 1 year of experience, holding the necessary certifications and licenses, who is comfortable working in a short-term acute care setting with a focus on bone density imaging.
