Job Opportunity: DEXA Technician

Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Bone Density Technologist (DEXA Technician) to provide specialized radiology services. This position does not require floating between units, on-call duties, weekend shifts, or block schedules. The expected patient ratio is 1:1.

Required Certifications and Licenses

Valid Radiology Technologist license in Oregon
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year

Short Term Acute Care Facility
Charting system: Epic

Work Environment

Scrub color: Any color allowed
Parking: No fee

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
Education verification required
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years

Training and Competency

Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start (including regulatory and specialty-specific modules)
Medication and competency exams as applicable
Epic training modules completion required

No floating between units
No on-call or weekend requirements

1:1 patient ratio

This position is ideal for a DEXA Technician with at least 1 year of experience, holding the necessary certifications and licenses, who is comfortable working in a short-term acute care setting with a focus on bone density imaging.
