Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN

Job Description

• Minimum 2+ years of current Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required.
• Patient ratios typically 1:5 or 1:6, may fluctuate based on census and call-ins.
• Work schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation per two-week pay period (no block scheduling).
• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly.
• Must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered.
• Start date is flexible and based on need.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact nursing license.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification (required for all RN specialties except OR and Psychiatry)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Must have completed at least 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
• Must provide:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination or positive titer.
  • Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination.
  • Proof of Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years) or declination.
  • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP indicating clearance to work.
  • Negative TB test or QuantiFERON blood test within one year prior to start.
• Drug screen and background checks required, including:

  • 7-year county and nationwide criminal background.
  • Social Security trace.
  • National sex offender registry.
  • OIG, SAM, EPLS, OFAC checks.
• Professional references: 2 required (1 charge nurse or higher, 1 supervisor), both within the last year.
• Completion of skills checklist, competency exams, EKG/Telemetry exam, and core competencies specific to the scope of practice within one year prior to start.
• Compliance with state-specific vulnerable adult maltreatment registry checks.
• Annual updates required for most certifications, health screenings, and background checks.

Additional Information

• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
• Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines are accepted with proper documentation and approval.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• Must comply with all health and safety orientation requirements including HIPAA, infection control, fire safety, and patient rights.
