Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Sumter, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (no lunch)
  • Total: 40 hours per week
• Daily patient load: 10-12 patients
• Setting: Outpatient therapy
• Rehabilitation hospital experience preferred
• Lifting and transfer skillset required
• Teal scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
• Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience
• Experience as a Physical Therapist within the last year
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Proficient lifting and transfer skills

Certifications & Training Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only; RQI acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only; RQI acceptable
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify during onboarding)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I-9, Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background check (7-year history, including aliases and all states/counties lived/worked in) within 12 months of start
• Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test (True 2-step PPD, QF Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
• Respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start, no pending actions
• Nursys verification for RN licenses (if applicable)

Orientation & Testing

• Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment
• Pre-assignment testing (medication and competency exams) required within 72 hours of receiving login
• EKG practice and study guides provided if applicable
• Annual competency exams and core training modules required

Additional Notes

• Rehabilitation hospital experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Candidates must be able to lift and transfer patients
• Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background)
• Facility is latex-free environment
• Floating policy and contractor acknowledgment forms must be signed
• Some certifications and trainings may have associated costs borne by the candidate

This position offers a structured outpatient schedule with a focus on rehabilitation therapy. It is suitable for physical therapists with at least one year of experience, including those new to travel assignments.
