Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Sumter, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 5 shifts of 8 hours each
  • Inpatient setting

Job Description

  • Provide physical therapy services in an acute care inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Acute care experience is required.
  • Rehabilitation hospital experience is preferred.
  • Must have lifting and patient transfer skills.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required in specialty.
  • Teal scrub color required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year.
  • Ability to perform lifting and patient transfers safely.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID).
  • Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and others as required.
  • Education verification and license primary source verification.
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine if working in high-risk areas.
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal requirement).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination.
  • Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation.

Certifications and Training

  • ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) - must not expire within 30 days of start.
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) - must not expire within 30 days of start.
  • Other certifications as applicable to unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, EFM).
  • Completion of facility-specific online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment.
  • Pass required competency exams (medication, arrhythmia, pharmacology) as applicable.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification if required by unit.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must carry valid ID while on duty.
  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background).
  • Candidates must complete all required documentation and training to be cleared for assignment start.
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive inpatient rehab environment with a structured schedule and comprehensive compliance support.
