Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Largo, Florida

Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with infusion and skilled home care experience (private duty nursing experience alone is not accepted). The role involves providing skilled home health visits with a focus on cardiopulmonary assessment, wound care, IV skills, and post-op care.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

• Cardiopulmonary assessment
• Basic wound care including ABI compression dressing, wound vac dressing, Pleurx/Aseptdrain care
• Foley catheter change and care
• Staple/suture removal
• Use of glucometer and pro-time machine
• SQ/IM injections and lab draw venipuncture
• IV skills including PICC line or Midline care and dressing changes
• SQ port access/deaccess

Patient Diagnoses:

• General medical diagnoses
• High-risk diagnoses including Heart Failure (HF), COPD, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Pneumonia, Stroke
• Post-operative care

Work Schedule:

• Home skilled visits: 6-8 per day
• Hours vary based on office needs, including:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM
  • Thursday to Monday or Friday to Tuesday shifts
  • Alternating weekend shifts
• Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on office needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of home health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in home care and home health settings
• Infusion experience
• Proficient IV skills
• Experience with OASIS documentation and processes

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal exclusions
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Drug testing (standard 9 panel) within 30 days of start
• Respirator medical clearance if applicable
• Photo for badge prior to start
• Personal or auto insurance active during assignment
• Completion of required online training modules prior to start
• References from the past 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist

Additional Notes

• Scrubs: Any solid color scrub
• Documentation systems used include electronic health records and scheduling software
• Candidates must be prepared to complete competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Candidates must comply with facility dress code and tobacco policy
• Fingerprinting per Florida AHCA Level II requirements is mandatory prior to start
