Job Opportunity: Scrub Tech

Position Overview

Provides specific patient care duties and unit support activities in the operating room suite. Responsible for anticipating procedural needs, assisting with dressings or cast application, and ensuring quality care to OR patients. Works independently and fulfills additional responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Maintain all regulatory requirements including licensing, certification, and mandatory training.
• Anticipate needs during surgical cases and assist accordingly.
• Follow physician preference cards for case preparation.
• Perform surgical counts (towel clips, Allis, Ednas, instrument trays) and document accurately.
• Report any exceptions and update surgeon preference cards as required.
• Identify and address problems proactively to improve quality of care.
• Work additional or different shifts as requested.
• Take on at least one departmental task beyond routine duties.
• Participate in teaching and submit recommendations for process improvements or cost containment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Scrub Tech certification is required.
• Experience with robotic surgical cases is required.

Specialty Experience

• Must have strong experience with cardiac (heart) cases.
• Will also work on orthopedic, neurological, and robotic cases when cardiac cases are not available.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (89 days).
