Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - High Risk Labor and Delivery
- Shift: Day/Night rotation (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, will float within scope to postpartum
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (within 100 mile radius)
- Pending License Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only
- Epic Experience is required
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, EFM) based on unit/job description
Special Clinical Requirements
- Experience with Cesarean Births (C/Births)
- Postpartum Tubal Ligations (PPTL)
- Dilation and Curettage (D and C)
- Cerclage placement and removal
- Waterbirth experience

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Experience with Cesarean Births (C/Births)
- Experience with Postpartum Tubal Ligations (PPTL)
- Experience with Dilation and Curettage (D and C)
- Experience with Cerclage placement and removal
- Experience with waterbirth
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Scheduling and Work Environment
- Guaranteed hours subject to cancellation of up to 3 shifts without penalty
- Floating to postpartum unit as needed
- Weekend work every other weekend required
- Parking available with some costs depending on shift
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Candidates must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after contract signing to initiate fingerprinting process
- Modules and training must be completed timely to avoid delays in clearance
- Facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergy should be aware
