Registered Nurse (Med Surg)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), Oncology, Neurology, Palliative Care
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Must float within scope when needed, including to facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Unit Beds: 41
• Equipment: Alaris IV pumps
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Oncology, Neurology, and Palliative Care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Comfortable caring for patients with oncology, neurological, and palliative care needs
