Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Inpatient/Acute Care

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Facility: 450-bed trauma level 3 hospital with approximately 360 census
• Work Environment:

  • 7 floors providing therapy services
  • Patient populations include ortho, neuro, oncology, post-op back and neck, basic med-surg, and ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical)
  • Team includes 8-10 PTs and 6-8 PTAs daily
  • Collaboration with OT, ST, and case management teams
• Travel Radius: 50 miles; local candidates not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption required during flu season

Background & Documentation

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification (highest level) required
• Work history verification for 7 years
• Driver’s license or state ID required
• Various facility-specific documents including photo for badge and orientation safety manual acknowledgment

• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• No prior travel experience required for this position
