Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Pediatric Cardiac MRI)
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- At least 1 year of hands-on Pediatric Cardiac MRI experience, including congenital CMR, in a high-volume, high-complexity pediatric center is required.
- Must have robust Cardiac MRI (CMR) experience.
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment is required.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (07:00 - 15:30).
- No weekend shifts or on-call required.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Locals are not accepted.
- Guaranteed hours after call-off policy is met.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists)
- ARRT (R) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Epic experience required (electronic health record system).
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Valid ARMRIT or ARRT (R) certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience working with pediatric patients, specifically in pediatric cardiac MRI.
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment.
- Pediatric MRI Technologist experience.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required; first-time travelers are accepted.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, national databases, and education verification within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, PA, or APRN, confirming good health without restrictions.
- Fit test for N95 masks within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required: Tdap (within 10 years), Hepatitis B (series or titer), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella (chickenpox), Flu seasonal vaccination (required during flu season).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation within required timeframes.
- Negative 9-panel drug test (non-THC) within 30 days of start.
- Medication calculation competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs; may not apply to MRI Tech but check facility specifics.
- Badge photo required (JPEG, recent, plain background).
- Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start (e.g., HIPAA, confidentiality, code of conduct, meal waiver).
References & Employment History
- Two supervisory references verified within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager). Charge RNs not acceptable unless for return candidates with specific conditions.
- Employment application must cover a full 7 years with no gaps over 6 months without explanation.

- Scrub color provided (navy).
- Charting system: Epic.
- Parking: Free for travelers.
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: maximum 6 days.
