Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – ER Holding
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Exams and Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (prior to start)
- Unit-Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (within 1 year of start, annual renewal required)
Background and Screening Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check (including FBI and state fingerprinting)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) with specific state codes, must be current within 1 year of start
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption allowed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and annually thereafter
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually
License Requirement
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Telemetry experience
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Proficiency with IV Insulin and Heparin protocols
- Renal failure management skills
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration
- Tracheostomy management experience
- Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
- Non-invasive airway management skills, including CPAP, BIPAP, and oxygen therapy
