Description
Job Opportunity: Antepartum Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
- May float to Labor & Delivery as needed
- EPIC experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Certifications required:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide sex offender, and other standard screenings
- Education verification matching specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
- State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification for RNs
- Physical exam within 1 year (not required to be updated annually)
- Fit mask test annually (with waiver process if failed)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof
- Varicella vaccination or titer proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Two professional references required
Competency Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness testing prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (specific to specialty/unit)
- Competency exam required for clinical staff
Additional Notes
- Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background)
- Various facility-specific exemption forms for flu and COVID vaccines accepted if agency approves
- Performance evaluations completed by unit managers after start
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
This position is ideal for experienced Antepartum RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working night shifts and have the required certifications and competencies.
