Registered Nurse (RN) - Med ICU

Location: Neptune, New Jersey

Job Summary

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
• Identify patient needs and determine priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
• Document care according to standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care aligned with professional nursing practice models.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Strong experience with ventilators and mechanical ventilation.
• Experience with complex critical care at a high acuity level.
• Experience managing complex vasopressors.
• Strong understanding of sedation for mechanical ventilation.
• Experience with arterial lines, Swan Ganz catheters, and central line management.
• Experience with arterial blood gas specimen collection.
• Experience with chest tubes.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing required.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
