Job Opportunity: Emergency Room RN (Night Shift)
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Summary
Registered Nurses provide nursing care to patients and families following professional nursing standards. This role involves primary nursing care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in an Emergency Medicine setting.
Required Experience
- Emergency Medicine experience required
- Must have and maintain current RN licensure in Rhode Island
- Proficient in English
- Ability to lift and transport patients with assistance
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Current RN license in Rhode Island
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Nursys verification (for nursing license)
- CPR certification
- Fit Test for N95 mask (within 1 year)
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza (required for flu season), Varicella, Tdap
- TB testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within the last year; if positive, chest X-ray and documentation required
- COVID-19 vaccination series or bivalent booster (medical exemptions reviewed prior to start)
- Driver’s License or State ID
- Background checks including federal, county, national, and statewide with OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches (within 6 months)
- Fingerprinting in Rhode Island within 30 days of start
- Completion of required skills checklists and competency exams (including specialty competency, basic EKG, pharmacology, core competencies)
- BSN degree or transcripts required
- Annual compliance with COVID and flu policies
Additional Requirements
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
- COVID and flu vaccinations required
- Must be able to complete all onboarding paperwork and orientation prior to start
- Must provide professional references and employment verification
- Must complete confidentiality agreement
Notes
- This is a night shift position
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Must be able to physically assist patients into chairs, wheelchairs, or stretchers
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who meet licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working nights in a fast-paced environment.
