Registered Nurse - OR

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

Work hours: 0630-1500 or 0630-1700 (10-hour shifts available)
Call requirements:
- 1st call from end of shift to 2300
- 2nd call from end of shift until 0630 next day
- Weekend call is 24 hours or can be split into 12-hour segments
Unit: 2nd floor Surgical Services, Surgery Unit
Number of beds: 11
Patient ratio: 1:1
Staffing: 1 RN, 1 CST, and FA as needed per case; support from EVS and schedulers
Equipment: Must be familiar with DaVinci robotic surgical systems (6 DaVinci Xi, 1 DaVinci SP, 1 DaVinci DV5 with 24/7 access)
Documentation system: Meditec
Scheduling: 40 hours weekly plus call
Floating policy: Not applicable
Procedures performed: General, vascular, surgical oncology, colorectal, GYN oncology, urology, orthopedics, ortho and neuro spine (excluding open hearts and craniotomies which have specialty teams)
Team environment: Good mix of experienced staff with a strong team mentality
Residents: General and GYN surgical residents, anesthesia residents present
Recognition: Robotic Center of Excellence

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
