Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Largo, Florida
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a respiratory therapy unit with approximately 290 beds and a staff of 21 therapists.
• Day shift typically includes 6 therapists and a supervisor; night shift includes 4 therapists.
• Patient care involves ventilator management, critical care skills, and good assessment abilities.
• Typical procedures include:

  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) from A-lines and sticks
  • Assisting in intubations, codes, and rapid responses
• Equipment used includes Servo and 840 ventilators.
• EMR system experience preferred.
• The unit values team players who like to stay busy.

Schedule

• Scheduled according to facility policy.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• NBRC certification
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Critical care skills
• Ventilator management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech EMR system.
• Prior ventilator experience.
