Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN CVICU

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Job Description

Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:
- 1:1 for ICU status patients
- 1:2 for ICU status patients
- 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients

Required Experience & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including Pediatric CVICU experience.
ICU experience within the last year.
Experience working with Pediatric patients.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Licensure

License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.

Additional Requirements

Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists demonstrating proficiency in pediatric CVICU nursing.
Compliance with health and safety requirements including:
- Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza vaccine (seasonal)
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with follow-up as needed)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or documented declination
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
Background checks and employment verifications as per healthcare regulations.
Completion of onboarding education and competency attestations related to pediatric CVICU care.
Maintenance of professional references and submission of a current resume/profile.
