Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Dyersville, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 0600-1800
- Schedule: Every 3rd Friday, Saturday, Sunday (EOH) with holiday rotation (at least one holiday during assignment)
- Patient Care: Two RNs will care for medical-surgical patients; when an emergency department (ED) patient arrives, one RN will move to the ED to provide care
- Average Daily Census (ADC): 3 patients
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license valid in Iowa
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (American Heart Association)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Specialty exam completed within the last year
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (specific substances required; no THC)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination (with agency letterhead)
- MMR vaccination or immunity proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start (titers not accepted)
- Influenza vaccine or approved exemption/declination (for current flu season)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) for TB screening
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Tdap vaccination (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
Background & Compliance
- Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check (last 7 years), including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
- State-specific criminal and abuse registry checks (Iowa Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training and Sing Report)
- Employment eligibility verification (I9)
- Various professional compliance forms and disclosures (confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, integrity and audit services, system access, etc.)
- Education verification (highest level of academic education)
- Exclusion screenings (OIG, EPLS, GSA/OIG, NSO) within 30 days of start
- Skills checklist and competency testing as required
