Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Dyersville, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: 1800-0600 (overnight)
- Schedule includes every 3rd Friday, Saturday, Sunday evening on holiday rotation (at least one holiday during assignment)
- Two RNs will care for Medical-Surgical patients; when an Emergency Department (ED) patient arrives, one RN will move to the ER side to provide care
- Average Daily Census (ADC) = 3 patients
Required Qualifications
- License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificate required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Other Requirements:
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
- Fit test for respiratory protection
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
- Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
- Immunizations and vaccine requirements including:
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination (with agency letterhead)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination series (titers not accepted)
- Influenza vaccine or approved exemption/declination (seasonal)
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) tuberculosis screening
- Background and Compliance:
- Criminal background checks including federal, nationwide, county (last 7 years), and sex offender registry checks
- Education verification (highest level of academic education)
- Various professional compliance forms and disclosures required prior to start
- System access and confidentiality agreements
- Skills checklist and professional references required
