Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Taos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: ASAP preferred

Job Description

• Role: OR RN Circulator
• Shift Options: Primarily 5x8 or 4x10 shifts (traveler preference), with flexibility to work other shifts if needed
• Position posted as a mirror to RNFA due to urgent need
• Strong orthopedic experience required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• C-section experience is a plus

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Strong orthopedic surgical experience
• Robotic surgery experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check (7-year criminal history, updated annually)
• E-Verify compliance
• Drug screening (negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TDAP (within past 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series and positive titer or declination with physician letter
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine series or facility-specific declination
• Fit testing for masks arranged onsite during orientation
• Professional photograph for badge
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manuals prior to start

Experience Requirements

• Strong orthopedic surgical experience is a must
• Robotic surgery experience is a must
• C-section experience preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• 75-mile radius reimbursement for local hires
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must provide proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
