Registered Nurse (Med Surg Neuro)

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and every other holiday

• Shift rotation varies by unit needs (e.g., 3 weeks days then 3 weeks nights, or all days/all nights)
• Travelers can self-schedule but must maintain contract-guaranteed days off; shift trades may be required to balance unit staffing
• Efforts made to minimize frequent day/night shift flipping

Job Description

• Primary unit: Med Surg Neuro (32-bed unit)
• Expected to float to any med/surg unit within the local area facilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • Day shift: 4-5:1
  • Night shift: 6:1
• Responsibilities include assessments, documentation, nursing tasks, medication administration
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg experience; neuro experience preferred but not required
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Active North Dakota or Compact RN License (willing to obtain if needed)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• EPIC experience required
• Willingness to float to all units/locations as needed

Additional Information

• Must not live within 60 miles of the facility (travelers within 60-80 miles considered local and subject to reduced pay rate)
• Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• If previously employed by this health system, must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to submission
