Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN - Nights

Location: Lamar, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Perform assessments, monitor labor progress, prepare for C-sections and inductions, and document nursing care.
• Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education.
• Prepare delivery room, provide emotional support, and coordinate patient transfers.
• Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control and OB department policies.
• Knowledge of or interest in obstetrics and related equipment is required.

Work Environment

• Full-time, 36 hours per week, night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs.
• On-call duties required.
• Physically demanding: long periods of standing, walking, heavy lifting.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and unpleasant sights/smells possible.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Colorado.
• Current CPR certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) and ACLS certification within one year of employment.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in obstetrics care preferred.
• Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum nursing care, sterile technique, and infection control.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations and communicate well with diverse individuals.
