Job Opportunity: Operating Room Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Germantown, Tennessee

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have at least 3 years recent OR experience if no prior travel experience, or 2 years recent OR experience with prior travel experience.
• Shift: Rotating days and nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12s).
• Call responsibilities: Will take call; details discussed during interview.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (no exceptions).
• Must have a Tennessee or compact nursing license at time of application (pending licenses or licenses not meeting Nurse Licensure Compact guidelines are not accepted).
• Return to Office (RTO) documentation is required at time of submission.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year.
• Minimum 2 years or more of total travel nursing experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport).
• Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu).
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (no exceptions for other mask brands).
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed).
• Immunizations: Proof of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B vaccination or titer, and TB testing within 1 year.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Two recent professional references.
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable.
• Photo for badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months).

Additional Notes

• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and take call as required.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed; candidates should be flexible.

This position is ideal for experienced OR nurses who meet licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable with travel assignments and rotating shifts.
