Description
Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist
Location: Cortez, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide quality patient care and diagnostic radiographic imaging services. Responsibilities include performing imaging procedures, supervising radiographic technology students, and acting as a lead technologist in assigned modalities. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, patient safety, and departmental supply management.
Work Schedule
- Saturday, Sunday, Monday
- 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT)
- CT Technologist experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and verify patient and procedure information
- Provide clear explanations about procedures to patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Perform imaging procedures using professional judgment to ensure diagnostic quality
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control policies
- Use Cerner and PACS systems appropriately for patient care
- Cover for peers as needed
- Communicate effectively within the department and with other hospital units
- Participate in professional development and community education activities
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity
- Perform all patient care activities in a manner that optimizes safety and reduces errors
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Basic computer proficiency
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to supervise and lead as assigned
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally and up to 75 lbs frequently
- Full range of motion including kneeling, crouching, reaching, and feeling
- Ability to talk and hear effectively for communication
- Visual acuity including color vision and near/far focus adjustment
- Exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and occasional aggressive patients
- Possible exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind
