Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Assignment is firm for 14 weeks, with the goal to cover through the Labor Day weekend.
- No floating between units.
- No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
- Expected patient ratio: 2:1.
- Experienced traveler preferred.
- Preferred experience with Elekta and MOSAIQ systems.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Oregon.
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience.
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year.
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable).
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable).
- Other certifications as required by clinical track or facility.
Required Documents & Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID vaccine or declination.
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024.
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).
Additional Requirements
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Annual regulatory requirements.
- Specialty-specific modules for travel caregivers.
- Regional and facility-specific modules as assigned.
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable.

- Candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities within the region.
- Fit mask testing required annually; onsite testing available if needed.
