Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
Staffing ratios:
- Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
- COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
May be assigned to assist with flu immunization clinics as needed.
Expected to attend staff meetings.
Occasional floating to other departments where qualified, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
Shift: 12-hour night shifts, with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse license valid in Arizona.
Minimum 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
Certifications required:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Additional Information

Orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will delay orientation to the following Monday.

Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
