Job Description

• Work on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry floor (Stepdown unit).
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715).
• No on-call required.
• May be required to float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU.
• Holiday and weekend requirements: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; must be willing to work Memorial Day.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required.

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start (no PAPR allowed).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; booster if low/equivocal).
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series; booster if low/equivocal).
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster if low/equivocal).
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); no declinations or exemptions accepted.
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.

Additional Information

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
• Must complete EPIC test-out prior to or shortly after start; only one attempt allowed. Failure to pass results in contract cancellation.
• Candidates may be required to sign appearance standards and safety manual acknowledgments.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced RN with at least 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing, working primarily on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry stepdown unit. The role requires specific certifications, recent Epic experience, and compliance with comprehensive health and background screening requirements. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
