Job Description

This position involves working as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting with rotational scheduling and on-call coverage (including nights, weekends, and holidays). Responsibilities include assisting with patient positioning, surgical prepping, draping, and setting up the operating room with all necessary equipment and instruments for scheduled surgeries. Surgical specialties covered include General Surgery, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Podiatry, and Urology for both adult and pediatric patients.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of one of the following:

  • Approved Surgical Technician training program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
  • On-the-job training in a clinical healthcare setting or military specialty

• Certification/Licensure:

  • Must obtain certification within 6 months after 3 years of qualification from one of the following:

    • National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA 3-year)
    • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT-3yr, 6240 hours)
    • Certified Tech in Surgery (TS-C)
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association throughout employment

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks
• COVID & Flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submission of a declination form
• Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date
