Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Houston, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for patients with impairments or functional limitations due to premature birth, birth injuries, disease, or other causes.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to patient age and development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and adjust intervention programs.
  • Perform duties in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), pediatric, and adult patient populations.
  • Expected to demonstrate high motivation, independence, and proactive patient care.

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Speech Language Pathology
  • Number of Beds: 381
  • Staff: 1 full-time and 1 PRN Speech Therapist (day shift)
  • Patient caseload varies
  • EMR System: Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse
  • Dress Code: Dark blue scrubs
  • NICU policy: Bare below the elbows

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
  • Minimum 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study

Preferred Skills

  • Pediatric experience (preferred)
  • Adult experience (preferred)

Additional Information

  • No weekends or on-call required
  • Floating areas include NICU, pediatric, and adult units

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not specified; prior travel experience is not required.
