Description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Houston, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for patients with impairments or functional limitations due to premature birth, birth injuries, disease, or other causes.
Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to patient age and development.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and adjust intervention programs.
Perform duties in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), pediatric, and adult patient populations.
Expected to demonstrate high motivation, independence, and proactive patient care.

Number of Beds: 381
Staff: 1 full-time and 1 PRN Speech Therapist (day shift)
Patient caseload varies
EMR System: Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse
Dress Code: Dark blue scrubs
NICU policy: Bare below the elbows

Required Qualifications

Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
Minimum 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
BLS certification
Experience working with Neonate patients
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study

Preferred Skills

Pediatric experience (preferred)
Adult experience (preferred)

Additional Information

No weekends or on-call required
Floating areas include NICU, pediatric, and adult units
