Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform MRI imaging including general, musculoskeletal (MSK), neuro, vascular, and cardiac MR imaging for adults, pediatrics, patients requiring anesthesia and ventilator support, and those with conditional implants.
• Use PACS (Phillips iSite), document scanning, and Care Logistics software.
• Typical shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
• Rotating call and holiday coverage required (generally 1 weekday call day and rotating Friday call; may be up to 2 days/week depending on staffing).
• Daily caseload: 10-15 patients.
• Weekend rotational call and holiday rotation required.
• Floating to sister facilities is not required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Locals accepted.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year.
• ARRT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with PACS.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid driver’s license/state ID (front and back copy).
• Background check including lifetime criminal and education verification.
• Drug testing within 30 days prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
• Immunizations and titers as applicable: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• TB testing or chest X-ray as required.
• Fit mask (N95) certification, updated annually.
• Flu vaccination documentation or approved medical/religious exemption.
• COVID vaccination documentation or declination.
• References: 2 required from supervisors or managers within the last 2 years (outside of this facility if previously employed here).
• Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 years).
• Skills checklist for clinical candidates.
• Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, orientation packet, and Epic experience screening.

Additional Notes

• On-call and holiday rotation is mandatory.
• Floating to other facilities is not required.
• Block scheduling may be available but is at manager discretion.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
• Locals are accepted.
• Candidates must be prepared for a fast start date (ASAP).

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable with call responsibilities and working in a Level II Trauma Center environment.
