Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with skills in the nursing process including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to promote and maintain patient health. The role involves supervising and delegating to subordinate personnel and ensuring the medical plan of care is followed. The nurse must be capable of performing procedures common to the nursing unit and providing culturally sensitive, age-appropriate care.
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse License (Montana or Compact License)
- Certifications:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience or PACU experience
- Additional Requirements: Must be willing to float to Mother-Baby unit to take couplets
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments using evidence-based techniques
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Document nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately
- Provide health teaching on lifestyle, risk reduction, developmental needs, and preventive care
- Participate in quality improvement activities and apply new knowledge to enhance nursing practice
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and self-evaluation
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain compassionate and supportive relationships with peers and colleagues
- Adapt to variable shifts and float as needed within related units (Transition Nurse, Circulate/PACU, Triage)
Additional Information
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
This position is ideal for nurses with Labor & Delivery or PACU experience seeking a short-term contract in Montana with opportunities to work across related nursing units.
