Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Avon, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals: Accepted
- Pending State License: Not accepted; Indiana state license must be in hand before submission
- Holiday Work: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) certification
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- X-Ray Technician experience
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- PALS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- NRP (AHA only)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- TNCC (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- State License verification within 30 days of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, criminal checks, sex offender registry, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification (may be pending at start but must be obtained)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (approved respirators only)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations or history accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs)
- Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, minimum 100% score)
- Unit competency exam
Documentation and History
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment (within 2 years), with titles including charge, manager, or supervisor
- Current employment application including work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
- Application must cover 7 years of history with all gaps accounted for
Additional Notes
- Block scheduling may be discussed and accommodated
- On-site fit testing available only as a last resort with limitations
- Must complete facility-specific compliance and orientation documents prior to start
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
This position is ideal for Radiologic Technologists with at least 2 years of experience who hold an Indiana state license and are comfortable working a standard weekday schedule with holiday coverage. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome to apply.
