Job Opportunity: Hospice Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
- Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
- Conduct home visits with an average caseload of 5-8 patients per day.
- Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with one day of backup call during the week and backup call one weekend per month at most.
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, covering Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.
- Expected weekly travel: approximately 150+ miles.
- Charting and documentation using HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS (RNs required to be proficient).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of Hospice experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Proficiency with OASIS documentation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Dress code: Scrubs.
- No guaranteed hours; patient census may fluctuate.
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Weekend and on-call requirements vary; backup call includes one day per week and one weekend per month at most.
