Description
Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Inpatient) to perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures in two or more areas such as Cardiac, Vascular, or General ultrasound. The role involves operating sophisticated ultrasonic imaging equipment, reviewing images for quality and completeness, and following established protocols to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 4x10-hour shifts, Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Some call required
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as needed
- Floating to other locations within the organization based on staffing needs
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in specialty areas (Cardiac, Vascular, General) according to protocols and standards
- Use advanced imaging skills to deliver high-quality sonographic images
- Follow physician orders and care standards to improve patient outcomes
- Participate in accreditation and re-accreditation processes for ultrasound modalities
- Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment and work areas
- Provide training and mentorship to new staff and sonography students
- Perform invasive ultrasound procedures as applicable (e.g., use of contrast agents, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, line placement) following policy
- Operate hospital and department computer systems related to imaging and documentation
- Adhere to safety and quality standards for patients of all ages (infant to geriatric)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
