Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - North Dakota, Fargo

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
• Location: Fargo, North Dakota
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend (EOW), every other holiday (EOH)
• Unit: 10-bed medical-surgical unit (Home unit 2W)
• Floating: May float to any med/surg unit on any campus in Fargo as needed
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift: 5:1
  • Night shift: 6:1

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience (will not consider first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required, but first-time travelers will not be considered
• Licensure:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or a compact state
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working in a larger hospital (minimum 250 beds) with a Level 2 or higher trauma center
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Job Responsibilities

• Provide general medical-surgical patient care
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge
• Utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in the clinical setting

• AccuDose medication system
• Bladder Scanner
• Phillips monitors
• Telemetry

Additional Notes

• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrubs color: Navy Blue
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates living 61 to 80 miles away may be considered at a local rate
• Must disclose if previously worked for this health system; if so, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
