Location: Evansville, Indiana

Unit Description

  • Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCU)
  • Patient population includes Medical, Cardiac, Pre/Post Cardiovascular Surgery, Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, and Stroke overflow
  • 28 beds
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Indiana, verified within 30 days prior to assignment start
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) certified
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA certified

Experience

  • Specialty: RN in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN PCU experience expected (typically 1-2 years or more)
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required

Testing & Competencies

  • Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)
  • Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts)

  • Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% or national benchmark, max 2 attempts)

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be done onsite)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Additional Requirements

  • Signed assignment agreement
  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
  • Professional references (at least two)
  • Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
  • Employment and education verifications within 90 days prior to start
  • Onboarding requirements including nursing contingent worker education attestation and contract worker onboarding completed onsite
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
