Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lancaster, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 to 26 weeks preferred (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts

• May include occasional weekend coverage and floating

Job Description

• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekly Work Hours Guarantee: 36 hours
• Cancellation Notice: 14 days

Requirements

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year
• At least 1 year of experience in Speech Language Pathology in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Current, valid State License for Speech-Language Pathologist in California
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred
• National or State-specific Therapy certifications as applicable
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable

Compliance & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start date (with specific protocols for past positives)
• Immunization or titer proof for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
• Professional references:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles
• Annual skills checklist

Additional Notes

• Floating assignments and occasional weekend shifts may be required
• Cancellation notice period is 14 days
