Description

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1830 - 0700)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: As required by facility
Call Requirements: As required by facility
Float Requirements: As required by facility

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
Experience working with adult patients

Unit and Patient Information

Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy
Patient Population: Respiratory patients across multiple units including Surgical ICU (SICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), Emergency Department (ED), Neurology, and Trauma
Patient Acuity: Adult critical care, high volume busy ED with trauma experience required
Equipment Used:
- Avea ventilators
- LTV transport ventilators
- V60 Bipap (with Bellavista coming soon)
- VapoTherm and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Skills and Experience

Must Have:
- Adult critical care experience
- Experience in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department with trauma patients
Preferred:
- Blood gas draw and processing on GEM analyzer
- Blood gas interpretation skills

Work Environment and Culture

Dress Code: Black scrubs (facility standard)
Personality Fit: Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills; willing to assist coworkers as time allows
Additional Notes: Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and then transported to a nearby facility
