Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1830 - 0700)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend and Call Requirements: As required by facility
Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapy services primarily in adult critical care settings.
- Work in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department with trauma cases.
- Patient care areas include SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma units.
- Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported offsite.
- Equipment used includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, VapoTherm, and Airvo high flow devices.
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri.
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS certification.
- Skills in blood gas draw, processing (GEM analyzer), and interpretation.
Work Environment
- Unit staffed for a licensed capacity of 767 beds.
- Patient ratios based on a point system and staffing levels.
- Dress code requires black scrubs per facility standards.
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted.
- Float and weekend hours as required by the facility.
