Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
  • Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed (minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff)
  • Unit: Invasive Cardiology Cath Lab
    • Includes 4 dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
    • 23 prep/recovery bays
    • Procedures include complex coronary interventions, ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO, structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping), complex atrial and ventricular ablations, pacemaker/ICD implant/explant, cardioversion, pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation, peripheral intervention, and pulmonary embolectomy
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, with experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

  • Call: Minimal, as needed
  • Weekend Work: As needed
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Floating: Not applicable

Compliance and Documentation

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance required
  • Education verification and professional references required
  • Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations required, including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 90 days)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
    • Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
    • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
  • Drug screening (9 panel) required within 1 year (agency-specific)
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency required
  • Professional photo for badge required
  • Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and health & wellness commitment
  • Completion of online learning modules and new hire orientation required

References and Evaluations

  • Two professional references within the last 3 years required
  • Performance evaluations will be completed onsite during assignment
  • Most recent resume or employment application required
  • Annual skills checklist required

Notes

  • Candidate will undergo clinical screening to determine fit before final manager interview
  • Facility requires all health documentation to include two identifying markers (e.g., full name, DOB, SSN)
  • Candidate must be prepared to stay until the last patient is cared for during shifts

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, advanced cardiovascular invasive cardiology unit with a variety of complex procedures. Ideal candidates will have strong cath lab experience, EPIC proficiency, and the required certifications.
