Job Summary

Provide nursing care in an acute care medical-surgical unit located in a 34-bed hospital. The unit serves a patient population including geriatric, adult, and occasional pediatric patients (pediatrics not assigned to travelers). The role involves working primarily the night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) with occasional weekend shifts and on-call duties when the unit is down staffed.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Number of Beds: 34
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Patient Population: Telemetry, surgical, general medical patients
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
• Float Requirements: May be asked to care for inpatient holds

Schedule

• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend Hours: Occasional weekend work required (same shift hours)
• Call Requirements: Only when down staffed or placed on call

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical (Med Surg) and telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Healthcare experience required
