Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Mammography Tech, you will produce diagnostic mammograms, assist radiologists and referring physicians with mammographic procedures, and ensure quality patient care. This role requires proficiency in operating mammography equipment and the ability to make technical decisions to achieve the best image quality. You will work under supervision but have authority over technical aspects of mammography imaging.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- 40 hours per week guaranteed
- No call required
- May be required to work 2 or 3 major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Travelers may be required to float to other areas within their competency level
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Nevada
- Minimum 2 years of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification in Mammography
- BLS certification
Job Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality diagnostic mammograms
- Assist radiologists and referring physicians during mammographic procedures
- Provide patient care appropriate to adult and geriatric populations
- Operate mammography equipment and hospital/department computer systems
- Maintain quality standards as per unit/department competency requirements
- May perform additional duties related to the breast center as needed
Work Environment
- Extremely busy and fast-paced setting serving a large regional area
- Level 2 trauma center environment with high patient volume and acuity
- Exposure to advanced imaging technologies and procedures
Additional Notes
- The position requires technical skill and knowledge to ensure patient safety and image quality
- Flexibility to work holidays and additional shifts as needed
- May be subject to schedule changes or call-offs due to census fluctuations
