Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
This role is based in the Operating Room and involves supporting a wide range of elective and emergency surgical cases, including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures. The nurse will efficiently multi-task to ensure surgical cases proceed smoothly throughout the day. The position includes after-hours call coverage for nights, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma)
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska at time of submission
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred
- Flu vaccine required
Additional Information
- Start date will be at least 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing; travelers must schedule fingerprint appointments promptly to avoid delays
- Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location
- No housing or flight accommodations provided
- After-hours call coverage required (nights, holidays, weekends)
