Description

Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide fetal monitoring (basic and intermediate)
Medication titrations including oxytocin and magnesium
Perform cervical dilation checks
Manage labor and delivery processes
Serve as RN circulator during cesarean sections
Provide PACU recovery care for cesarean section patients
Manage peripheral lines
Follow isolation precautions and use PPE
Document care using computerized systems (EPIC)
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
Participate in rapid response team activation
Work day shifts with every other weekend coverage

Required Experience and Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Basic to intermediate fetal monitoring skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as applicable
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as applicable
Other certifications as applicable (e.g., Trauma Nursing Core Course, Chemotherapy, Crisis Prevention Institute)

Health and Compliance Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
Required immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
Background checks including 7-year history and federal exclusions
Education verification and work history verification

Additional Information

Scrubs provided
Computerized documentation experience (EPIC) preferred
Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
References and employment application required for credentialing
