Registered Nurse - Surgery

Location: Peoria, Illinois

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources, aligned with institutional philosophy.

Responsibilities

Perform all unit-specific nursing duties within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to surgical nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions as needed.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
