Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work variable night shifts from 0900 to 1730, including weekends
  • Patient population includes neonates, infants, and pediatrics
  • Provide care in a high-acuity pediatric operating room setting
  • Participate in circulating duties; scrub experience preferred
  • Opportunity to work in a Level One Pediatric Trauma and Surgery Center

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • Minimum 1 year of pediatric Operating Room (OR) nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
  • Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification
  • National Sex Offender Search and other federal checks completed within 30 days prior to start
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
  • Physical exam per agency standards (not required annually unless specified)
  • Fit mask testing within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
  • Immunizations and/or titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or signed declination)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (immune titer or 2 vaccines, or signed declination)
    • Hepatitis B (full vaccine series, immune titer, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (immune titer or 2 vaccines, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by December 1, 2025
  • Tuberculosis screening: Negative 2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD within 12 months; chest x-ray and questionnaire as applicable

Orientation & Training

  • Completion of facility-specific online modules prior to start, including:
    • Information Privacy and Security Essentials
    • Integrity Foundations
    • Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
    • Glucometer training (exemptions apply)
    • Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
    • Vocera Badge Training for inpatient RNs
  • Medication override test provided during orientation (not required before start)
  • Facility professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Coronavirus protocol attestation required

References & Work History

  • Two professional references from managers or supervisors within the last 24 months required
  • Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
