Job Description

• Implement treatment plans and select modalities to meet established goals.
• Provide prescribed physical therapy treatment to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients.
• Assist in evaluating patient progress and recommend discharge planning.
• Conduct and assist with patient activities and maintain appropriate records.
• Perform evaluations and establish treatment plans based on age-specific, cultural, and rehabilitative needs in compliance with licensing and accreditation standards and the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Provide effective therapy treatments and delegate patient treatment procedures appropriately.
• Ensure safe and comprehensive discharge planning.
• Maintain thorough, timely, legible, and consistent patient care documentation.
• Utilize resources to assist with patient flow (e.g., scheduling, printing forms).
• Provide education and mentoring for student interns as assigned.
• Participate in special department programs.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
• Work primarily in outpatient orthopedic settings.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in California.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge and skills to administer all department modalities, programs, and protocols appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Basic physical therapy skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
