Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology
Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position involves working as a Registered Nurse on Medical Surgical/Telemetry units with float responsibilities to other MS units as needed.
- Shift: Nights
- Patient ratio expectation: 1:5 or 1:6
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Local candidates are also accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASCP) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Requirements
- Must be comfortable with patient ratios and floating to other units as needed.
- Proof of I-9 or attestation required.
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international background check if applicable.
- Transcript or diploma required for verification.
- Color blindness test (Ishihara) required.
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required.
- Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required.
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 90 days of start date required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- Photo for badge required (no visible nose piercings in photo).
- Completion of online orientation and acknowledgment required prior to start.
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required.
- Employment application/resume required.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Weekend shifts are every other weekend.
- Floating to other Medical Surgical units is mandatory as needed.
- Candidates must be comfortable managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6.
This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing who are seeking a travel contract opportunity with night shifts and flexible floating assignments.
