Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology

Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position involves working as a Registered Nurse on Medical Surgical/Telemetry units with float responsibilities to other MS units as needed.
  • Shift: Nights
  • Patient ratio expectation: 1:5 or 1:6
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Local candidates are also accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASCP) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with patient ratios and floating to other units as needed.
  • Proof of I-9 or attestation required.
  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international background check if applicable.
  • Transcript or diploma required for verification.
  • Color blindness test (Ishihara) required.
  • Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required.
  • Annual fit mask test required (N95 or equivalent).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required.
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening (9 panel) within 90 days of start date required.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
  • Photo for badge required (no visible nose piercings in photo).
  • Completion of online orientation and acknowledgment required prior to start.
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required.
  • Employment application/resume required.

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • Weekend shifts are every other weekend.
  • Floating to other Medical Surgical units is mandatory as needed.
  • Candidates must be comfortable managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6.
